Marie Young Photography specializes in on-location photography in the Sacramento Valley and extended Northern California region. Do you have grandparents who would like a portrait in their garden? Perhaps your children have a rocking good time in a bubble bath? I'll come there. There are poems in my pictures. I make a recording and remembrance of life. When I remove my lens cap, it's to capture life as we will never see it again. Life lives, and then the moment passes. From an early age art was important in our family. Several members paint, sketch, and play instruments. I combined it all with my camera. Photography is art for me. I knew early on that this was what I wanted to do.
As mentioned above, I specialize in on-location photography which means I travel to where the client is. Whether it's a park, home, beach or even Jamaica, no need to twist my arm, I love to travel.
My approach and technique are simple. The less props needed the better. I try to always work with in natural light however in some of the darker homes improvising with lighting is necessary. The same is true for portraits. The client calls the shots, especially if the client is under three feet tall. Using a non-intrusive approach with kids allows them to be themselves. Sometimes that might include a mud-bath or a delicate conversation during tea with a childhood bear. Whatever the case, I capture them in their moments not mine.
I received an initial photography education at Sacramento City College, and I will always be involved in some form of study. I am an active member of the Professional Photographers of America, and have had my commercial pictures published in the Sacramento Bee, Sacramento Kids Directory, Kidaround Magazine, Sacramento Marriott as well as other local brochures.

Three portrait sessions over the first year of your babys life.

Package includes: 25 custom designed birth announcements, one 8x10 of each session and 10 proofs from each session. $550.00
Baby Club
Two sessions over the year of your childs life.
Session includes: one 8x10 of each session and 10 proofs from each session. $290.00
Maternity Portraits
One-to two hours at location of your choice (park, home, river, etc.)
Package includes: one 8x10, proofs and the option to purchase a high resolution CD with portrait images. $250.00
Special Occasions
Whether the event is a birthday, anniversary, or family gathering, MYP will travel to where the party is!! $120.00 and hour, which includes on-line proofing and a CD burned at high resolution.
Engagements
One-to-two hours at a location of your choice (park, home, river, etc.) $250.00
Includes one matted 11x14.
Boudoir
One to two hour session at location of your choice.
Session includes one 8x10 and two 5x7's, all touch-ups. $200.00
Boudoir parties are also available upon request (free prints are included with each party.)

Commercial
Whether it's a new business or established, the way to reach your consumers are through your products and services. One high resolution CD with approximately 20 of your products images $200.00. Hourly rate, which includes travel, $50.00.
Cancellation Policy
When photo shoot is cancelled with LESS than a 72 hours notice before scheduled event - scheduling party pays $75.00
Copyrights
A high-resolution compact disc (CD) can be added to any portrait session. $10.00 an image.

Custom Greeting Cards
Have an upcoming birthday or graduation? Have your own personalized cards designed for the occasion.
Cards are available in four papers: standard gloss, watercolor, linen and pearl (ask to see samples). Cards must be ordered in full packages of 25. All cards include envelopes. Several sizes to choose from: 4x5.5 folded, 5x7 or 5x5 folded, 4x5.5 flat, 5x7 or 5x5 flat, 5x5 tri-fold or 4x5.5 accordion.

MYP will customize a one-of-a-kind bookmark from your recent photo shoot.
